The Malthusian clock is a digital visual representation of critical global data streams that are visualised to heighten relationships between key global market and reality based data. The Key data streams of critical global significance chosen for this piece are:

• Global population (UN)
• Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Global Food Price index
• Barrel of oil price (Brent or Sweet Texas)
• Carbon in Atmosphere measurement (IPCC)

The Malthusian Clock was developed for the Sustainable Living Festival and was shown on the large screen in Federation Square, Melbourne. The video was developed using openFrameworks and works equally well as an interactive installation.
